The first part of Father's Day was mostly spent without Brad, unfortunately. He had to work (surprise, surprise). So Noah and I went to church. We stayed for the worship part, but it never fails, as soon as the sermon begins, Noah wants to talk too... and very loudly.
So we went to the room for the families with babies (which is awesome, because it's made for the overly protective types that aren't quite ready to leave their baby in the nursery). Noah played and watched the other little guy in the room. He's still not sure what to think of other people his size... or in this case, half his size.
Brad came home, opened his gift from us, watched a little soccer, and then went to bed.

That night, we all went to my grandparents' house for dinner. I love how much life Noah brings to these get-togethers. Of course, my dad was SO happy to be with Noah.
My poor granddaddy always has to wait for everyone else to leave before he can hold Noah. :)
We're planning on having LOTS of quality time with Brad this weekend. He hasn't had a day off in 2 weeks. And after much consideration, we're doing nothing. Nothing but being together. We might take a walk, maybe take Noah to the park if it's not too hot, or possible walk around Birkdale. But absolutely no running around. Brad needs lots of rest, and Noah and I need some time with him. Noah gets little blips of time with Brad during the week. He needs his daddy.

It's always fun how much life a baby brings to the group! It makes family gathering that much more fun!! Good for ya'll for planning to do absolutely nothing!! That is so important sometimes!!
I feel ya. ABM has had 17 Father's Days and he has had to work about half of them. He has had to work half of our Christmases and wedding anniversaries, too. We've gotten used to celebrating in the general vicinity of the holiday :-).
I think doing absolutely nothing for your weekend together is a good idea. Often the best present ABM can give me is some Chinese takeaway and a day in bed.
