He was my first baby.
In a weird way, he got me prepared for having a real baby.
Having to stay up at night during those initial puppy phases, when all he wanted to do was whimper and whine. Taking him to all those vet visits. Lots and lots of baths. And when his ears act up, guess who gets to give him his medicine?
Dodger is a doll, bless his heart.
At first glance, people think he's a girl.
It doesn't help that he's the biggest.mama's boy.EVER.
It takes men awhile to get used to him.
They tend to prefer Flash's manly looks and typical hyper Lab demeanor.
But Dodger is a sweetheart.
Brad and I discussed a few days ago, how we wonder if we'd held them back from a better calling in life. Dodger would've been a perfect therapy dog. He's very peaceful to be around.
Unless you're a bicycle. Or a total stranger. Or another dog.
Then he means business.
He tries to look ferocious.
But all people see is a big fluffy teddy bear.
He's the perfect counterpart to his brother Flash.
Flash gets to be the bully, the alpha. And when he starts that stuff?
Dodger looks at him as if to say, "Alright. Whatever..."
Happy Sunday!
If you've got a furry baby, go give 'em a hug.
We're blessed to have them.
