Just a Regular 'Ol Update

Noah turned 4 months old last Thursday, so we went for his well visit on Friday.
He did so much better this time around with his shots. It still hurt, and he still cried, but we were smart enough to give him Tylenol before the appt this time.

Here are the stats:
He weighs 19 lbs (95%).
He's 26" long (90%).
He has plagiocephaly, which is a fancy word for a flat head. :) It's a little flat in the back, mainly because he absolutely hated being on his tummy for so long. Also, he was so colicky that I was more concerned about trying to get him to stop screaming for 5 hours straight than trying to fit in "tummy time".
Anyway, the poor kid really didn't have much of a chance from the get go. They had to use a vacuum at one point when his heartrate was dropping, and it made his head pointy there. He still has a little indention where the vacuum was. We're going to ask the specialist if that had anything to do with this, actually.

So yes, he's going to be a helmet baby. That's ok. He'll be the cutest helmet baby ever. We're hoping he won't have to wear it for long. His head isn't too bad, so maybe it won't take long for it to adjust. We're planning on getting a Steelers one. lol.

We finally got our tree decorated. Kelly came up and helped us and also got to see Noah. They had a good time together.

On Saturday night, we took Noah to see the lights at McAdenville (aka Christmastown USA), which is right down the road from us. I've written before about how enthralled he is with lights. He didn't know what to do with himself when he saw these! His eyes were HUGE the whole time. lol. He just kept looking back and forth in amazement. Yeah, we took him out of his carseat to see, but there are pretty much no traffic laws in that town, especially when you're creeping along at 3mph. :) He LOVED it.

He also got to attempt his first big boy food yesterday morning. We fed him rice cereal (Earth's Best organic... I'm going to try and feed him organic as much as possible... my mom must be wearing off on me). He wasn't too sure what to think of that. He opened his mouth to eat it, but I think the consistency threw him off.


He's finally doing much better with tummy time. He can last a few minutes now without planting his head in the floor and screaming. :)
