Why Facebook is the Best Invention Ever

Ok, so last month, I was going through some of my old boxes of letters I keep in our closet, and I came across some from my Au Pairs I had when I was little. I used to keep in touch with one in particular, Cory, after she went back to France. We would update eachother with what was going on. She got married, had a few kids, is a police officer, etc. And then somehow, we lost touch. I guess life just got too busy, and we got lazy in writing. Before we knew it, years had passed without any contact.

I tried writing her, apologizing for slacking off and losing touch, and hoping that she was still at this old address. I scoured facebook and myspace, seeing if she happened to be on the internet ever. I even looked up her husband's name to see if I could find her. I've been checking everyday to see if she wrote me back, but there was nothing.

Then today, I checked Facebook, and there was a message in my inbox from titled "Hello from France". She had found both my brother and I, and wanted to know if I remembered her. How cool is that? So I want to say a big "thank you" to the facebook people. Without FB, I'm not sure if I would've ever talked to her again.

This is at my 11th birthday. She's the one right behind me with the long brown hair. And yes, that's my baby brother that my stepdad is holding. And remember my friend from Charleston (Daniel)? That's him with the bunny ears, way before the beard. :)

Oh my goodness I'd forgotten how cute/pretty you were!! Is that Loretta behind him?
I love FB for that very reason I have found so many people that I lost touch with.
