Halloween is a funny holiday for me. I didn't grow up celebrating it, but I also don't think there's anything wrong with dressing up and getting some candy. So for the first time in my entire life, I actually decorated for Halloween (besides the pumpkins, of course). I got a few ideas from Pinterest (check out my board for the idea sources... I'm too lazy to go look for them).
Brad and I kept going back and forth on what to dress Noah as. I wanted to get all creative, but I just didn't have the energy to pull my act together and come up with something awesome. So Brad bought him this cheesy, Thomas costume at Target. I secretly hated it. It just wasn't creative at all. He put it on Noah, and Noah agreed with me. He hated it too.
So on October 31st, in the middle of the afternoon, I ran to Target with a goal in mind. I knew what I wanted him to be, thanks to some PJ's my parents bought him last weekend. It also helped that Noah has recently shown an interest in this certain cartoon, whenever Brad has it on.
Enter Clark Kent/Superman...
At first, Noah wasn't too convinced on the glasses. That was until we went next door to our neighbors' house where their teenage kids happened to be having a little party. Noah was greeted by a big crowd of teens, all going crazy over his costume. And Little Man was eating. it. up. He realized that this whole costume thing was going to get him more attention, and suddenly those glasses didn't seem so annoying anymore. He didn't take them off again for the next half hour.
(is it just me, or does Noah not look like Chicken Little in those glasses?)
I don't think he got the full concept of trick-or-treating. He didn't seem to care that people were putting candy in his bucket. He was more interested in people ooo-ing and aah-ing over his cuteness.
And if they didn't come to the door fast enough? Yeah, Dude was ready to open the door and walk on in himself.
All-in-all, it was an awesome night. He had a blast. Oh, and he finally realized what those people were putting in his bucket when he got home. :)
