A Celebrity-Filled Week

Monday, I got to meet one of my all-time favorite people ever... PAULA DEEN, Y'ALL!!

BJ's was holding a book signing with her. She was signing her latest cookbook in Concord, and there was no way you were keeping me from going.

I stood in line for 2 hours (in wedge heels... stupid, I know), pregnant and hungry, but it was totally worth it. Turns out Michael (her husband) was with her signing the book. He's the cutest little man ever. I stood in line with some fun ladies, so I was entertained. One of them fussed at the BJ's manager for not giving the pregnant girl a chair. I did get to sit once, when we made our way through one of the aisles with a massage chair. :)

The whole thing was pretty organized, but quick. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to get a picture with her, so I have to just be happy with my autograph and the memory. She asked me when my "little bump" was due, and I told her in August. She felt bad for me that I have to go through the hot summer pregnant.

And just in case you're wondering, she looks exactly the same as on TV and magazines. No need for touch-ups or photoshopping or whatever.

So I left BJ's with swollen ankles, a rumbling tummy, tired feet, and a big smile. :)

I even made her Lemon Blossoms and brought them to work in honor of her being here. And let me tell you, if you want to impress some people, make these. I've never had the words "heavenly", "melt-in-your-mouth", or "incredible" applied to my cooking before making these. The ladies at my office have just raved about them all week. They're not that hard either.

Today it was Brad's turn to see a few celebs. He and Art went to the golf championship at Quail Hollow today, and they got to see all kinds of famous people. Yep, they got to see Tiger, Mickleson, and all the other well-known pros. He also saw Peyton Manning, John Fox, Jimmy Johnson, Bubba Watson, and lots of other famous people.

I haven't heard the full story yet, since they decided to sneak off and play a little golf before coming home. Sounded like they had a pretty fun day, though.
